MUSIC TOUR

This was an enjoyable time, I was searching for my own visual language to express sounds. I asked a music conductor if I could walk among his orchestra during their practice session. ( there was some resistance to my presence, but I managed do some drawing of what I felt was about sound/music) Not only were the musicians practicing, but to my delight the choral singers were present. You will note that I have used mark making of gold paint around the singers to indicate that the music flowed slowly and beautifully and filled the place with a depth of sound. They were practicing Handel's Messiah for Easter. I chose strong color to indicate the richness of the sound.

This was a work that came out of walking through the practice rehearsal.. the visual and the hearing combined in making art work about music. I wanted to express the slow moving sounds and the gentleness that mature age musicians are acutely aware of.
